Ansan: A World Food Tour
Sarah, Matt, Franklin, Debbie and I went down to visit Rosly in Ansan (where he teaches at the university there) to have a food tour a couple weekends ago. Ansan is quite possibly the most international part of Seoul as the all the factories (and thus factory workers) are there. We had Pakastani/Indian food, Vietnamese, Mongolian and Filipino food. While it may not be the place to be at night (I can't lie, it was the first time I've ever felt even the slightest possibility of being mugged and was sufficiently ogled more than a few times), it has awesome food.

Seojeong Beach (서정), Busan + Jasmine/Buddha's Birthday
We went down to Busan for a 3-day weekend (for Buddha's Birthday....yes...Buddha has a birthday). Buddha's day of birth also coincided with one of my most favoritest people I've had the fortune of knowing this year, Ms. Jasmine LaRue Hagans. And what a better way to celebrate a day of birth than drinking on a beach and then eating pizza on another beach and then visiting a friend's new bar and then seeing live music? I got drunk not once, ladies and gentlemen, but twice on Friday!
Busan is a cool town but unfortunately for us, the next few days didn't have such beautiful weather. We spent most of Saturday in a TGIFridays and a mall, and the majority of Sunday in a Chinese Restaurant (albeit we spent Friday and Saturday there too) and a Starbucks. What the cuss Rain Gods?! I'll be back, Busan...and Scott...

AMUURICA, FUCK YEAH

We were the only people on the entire beach wearing swimsuits. Yes, Koreans swim in all their clothes.

Pirates of the Han River
We ventured on a "Han River Cruise" on Saturday. I think we were anticipating something a bit more exciting but hey, I guess we shouldn't have expected much more to look at than apartment buildings and bridges. But we DID get to go on a Pirates of the Caribbean boat...ha.

So many hilarious things I could say about this. Guess I'll have to keep it PG and not aRRRRRRRR.

Seanalicious came to haang.

So Futuristic.... (뚝섬유원지역 aka Ttukseom Resort)
At Ttukseom Resort stop (on the Han River) they are building some crazy alien spaceship train tunnel. That's not the technical term (I don't think) but it sure had me singing F>I>G>U>R>I>N>E.

할로윈 (Halloween)
My favorite day of the year. I found $80 on the ground of a club. I had a net of +$5 on the night but that's because I am a very generous drunk :)

Robert Downey Jr. incarnate.

I was Skeleton Boy (inspired by this Friendly Fires video). Needless to say, I got some funny stares in the subway.

Uncle Tom's Cabin or something....We were the only ones there at first...

Shark's got my conjoined twin fetus!

so Downey.

...and then it got crowded.

I made him come and he had so much fun (I think).

Jane's Groove.

My Frenchman, Antoine.

I was totally photo-stalking this guy. Couldn't just go and talk to him. That's not creepy or anything...

I met this guy a month ago at Culture Exchange and can't for the life of me remember his name.

My good fortune landed us at a bomb hof.

A BT Birthday
My great Scorpio (cusp!) friend from UT, Mr. Brandon Taylor turned 26 (27 in Korea...they think you are a year old when you step out of the womb...) Friday October 23rd. (My half-birthday, for those of you playing along at home.) We went out Saturday for Russian food (lots and lots of meat and vodka, not surprised are you?) and to Hongdae to celebrate. Found some crazy awesome bars and danced the night away. Just how I like my Saturday night.

Man of the hour.

Loads of Russian restaurants in Dongdaemun.

Wilmo.

Laura.

Janes Groove. I had to pretend Jasmine was my girlfriend with not one, but THREE relentless/sketchy dudes.

Had to leave you with something incredibly creepy, didn't I?

명동 (Myeongdong)
Myeongdong has the best retail shopping in Seoul. There is a Forever 21. Need I say more?

Franklin enjoying a mango cone.

Every person that gets one of these cones takes a picture. Ahem.

There are more evangelical bicyclists than you'd expect in Seoul.

So Asian. Frank is a trooper too.
